Musnad `Umar b. al-Khattab (ra)

مُسْنَدِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

Arabic Text

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ قَزَعَةَ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ يُعَذِّبُ اللَّهُ هَذَا الْمَيِّتَ بِبُكَاءِ هَذَا الْحَيِّ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا كَذَبْتُ عَلَى عُمَرَ وَلَا كَذَبَ عُمَرُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ‏.‏

English Translation

It was narrated that Qaza`ah said:

I said to Ibn ‘Umar: is the deceased tormented because of the weeping of this living one? He said: ‘Umar narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and I did not lie when narrating from `Umar, and `Umar did not lie when narrating from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).
