حَدَّثَنَا رِزْقُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنْ تُتَّخَذَ الْمَسَاجِدُ فِي الدُّورِ وَأَنْ تُطَهَّرَ وَتُطَيَّبَ ‏.‏

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Aishah that:

The Messenger of Allah commanded that places of prayer be established in villages, and that they be purified and perfumed.
