حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ فِي غَزْوَةٍ غَزَوْنَاهَا ‏ "‏ اسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنَ النِّعَالِ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لاَ يَزَالُ رَاكِبًا مَا انْتَعَلَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

English Translation

Jabir reported:

I heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) saying during an expedition in which we also participated: Make a general practice of wearing sandals, for a man is riding as it were when he wears sandals.
